Jake Paul Rehabbing Injury With Cryo Ahead of Silva Fight

(Panama City) - Jake Paul will face the stiffest test of his professional boxing career Saturday night when he takes on Anderson Silva. And it may be even tougher due to an injured shoulder.

Muscle Lab, which treated Deontay Wilder for recurring back issues leading up to his bout against Robert Helenius this month, confirmed that Paul has been rehabbing a right shoulder injury at its facility in Los Angeles.

"Cryo has become a go-to mental and physical rehabilitation resource for me as a full-time boxer," Paul said. "When you're training seven days a week at an incredibly high level, diverse and focused treatment is vital, and I have one of the best teams in L.A. working with me regularly."

Paul has undergone cryotherapy, stretch therapy, cupping therapy and massage treatments at Muscle Lab. In addition to Wilder, other athletes who are clients include Tyler Herro, Ben Simmons and Oscar De La Hoya.

"Jake trains as hard as anyone I've seen in this sport so it's difficult to get him to slow down, even for a minute," Vatche Ourishian, Performance Director at Muscle Lab, said. "But Jake knows the importance of adequate muscle recovery, and targeted sessions on his shoulder are showing rapid progress. We don't expect it to be a factor in the fight."

Paul is listed as a -130 favorite over Silva at SportsBetting.ag. Paul initially opened as a -180 favorite in August, but quickly went to a +135 underdog. Now he is back in the favorite position, and the website reports that 62.4% of the overall handle has been bet on Paul.
