Now, after 18 long NFL weeks of football, the playoffs are finally here, beginning with the Super Wild Card round. With no team safe, surprises are bound to happen.

While the majority of the eyes are on the moneylines, spreads and over/unders, this will focus on some of the players who are going to cross the goal line during this round.

Here are the three best bets to be an anytime scorer during these half-dozen games.

Christian McCaffrey

Our first anytime scorer is Christian McCaffrey of the San Francisco 49ers. 

McCaffrey is one of the truly versatile players at the running-back position, a threat to run, catch, block or even throw. This is why he’s a no-brainer in this category. Value won’t be there compared to some other players, but it’s a very low-risk, some-reward type of play. He’s an odds-on number to find the end zone, according to NFL props.

We’re excluding McCaffrey’s Carolina Panther stats, focusing just on his numbers with the 49ers (156 carries, 746 yards, 4.7 yards per rush).

He’s a sensational running back, with six touchdowns as a runner and four as a pass catcher (52 receptions, 464 yards, 8.9 yards/catch).

Collectively in the 2022 season, McCaffrey has 13 touchdowns. When the 49ers battle a poor Seattle Seahawks defense, McCaffrey is going to score one, maybe two touchdowns.

Bet on McCaffrey (-140) to cross the goal line, as the Niners are solid 10-point favorites, as per NFL odds.

Tyler Boyd

During the three Sunday games, there will be a lot of touchdowns. Give an extra look to the Cincinnati Bengals hosting the Baltimore Ravens.

The Bengals are playing their best football of the season, and any number of  players can find the end zone. Expect Tyler Boyd to be one of them.

A Boyd touchdown is more of a risk compared to McCaffrey, but with only five touchdowns in the season, value is going to be a lot better as well.

The reason Boyd is such a good bet is because quarterback Joe Burrow is hot, and has many weapons in the arsenal. While the Raven defense has been good, Boyd isn’t at the top of the scouting report. He will sneak in a touchdown early in the game.  

In the 2022 season, Boyd only has 58 receptions. However, he averages over 10 yards per reception and is more of a deep threat in the slot. He had 51 receiving yards against the Ravens last week, and is likely to have a better game in the rematch.

While the eyes are on Tee Higgins and/or Ja’Marr Chase to score, watch Boyd find paydirt.

Cincy, last season’s AFC champs, are listed at +425 to repeat, as per NFL conference odds.

Julio Jones

Admittedly a big risk here, but Julio Jones is going to score a touchdown Monday night. In the final game of the wild-card round, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers host the Dallas Cowboys.

It’s a rematch of the Week 1 Sunday night game when the Bucs defeated the ‘Boys on the road, 19-3. Dallas ended the regular season with a non-effort against Washington, so is it ripe to get picked off by Tampa again? Who knows, but Jones is a great bet to catch a touchdown.

Jones was one of the best wideouts in the NFL earlier in his career with the Atlanta Falcons. Now isn’t the time to abandon him. When he played with the Tennessee Titans, it seemed like everyone ignored him. He was expected to have an Antonio Brown-like season in Tampa Bay, but injuries and a lack of targets put a wrench in those plans.

Nonetheless, Jones is a great value bet to score a touchdown against the Cowboys.

The 33-year-old has only played in 10 games, but has been targeted in all of them. He hasn’t caught a touchdown since November, but this prop is all about the risks.

Everybody expects Chris Godwin, Mike Evans or Leonard Fournette to score, but Jones is a sneaky bet. There is a lot of money to be made if Jones gets a touchdown. He will be open, and he has a great shot to score.

In what may be a low-scoring affair, expect the veteran to add some fireworks. Jones will have substantial value in this wager, so don’t think twice about it.
