A number of teams will be representing the great state of Texas in this year's NCAA Men's College Basketball Tournament. Houston Cougars
The Cougars are the favorites to win the 2023 NCAA Men's College Basketball Tournament and would pay out $600 on a $100 bet.
They advanced early as a -19.5 favorite against Northern Kentucky and will face off against Auburn as a -5.5 favorite in Round 2.
This marks the school's first No. 1 seed since 1983.
"We're honored to be a 1 seed, but our kids have earned the right to be a 1 seed," Houston coach Kelvin Sampson told reporters. "Happy for our program, but more importantly, I'm happy for our kids who did all the work."
Following a lull, the Cougars have been represented in the Big Dance in recent years beginning in 2018.
The Cougars advanced to the Final Four two seasons ago and the Elite Eight last year.

Texas Longhorns
The Longhorns (26-9) pay $1800 for every $100 bet should they win it all.
They entered the first round of the NCAA Tournament as a big -13.5 favorite versus Colgate, a team they beat 81-61.
Interim head coach Rodney Terry said ahead of that game that the second-seeded Longhorns weren't looking ahead at old rival A&M, or to the top of the Midwest bracket at Houston.
"Colgate will be on our minds, and that's what we're going to start working on," Terry said.
There will be no taking on in-state rivals Texas A&M this tournament, however, as Penn State blew the Aggies away.
They've been regularly featured in the Big Dance since the early 90's. Since 2000, they've made 20 appearances in the tournament. They have failed to advance to the Elite Eight in their last eleven appearances.

Baylor Bears
The Bears also pay $1800 on a $100 bet should they win the Championship.
They easily beat UC Santa Barbara 74-56 as a -11.5 favorite.
Baylor into their own in college basketball back in 2008. Since that time, the Bears have appeared in ten NCAA Tournaments and made it into the Sweet Sixteen five times.

TCU Horned Frogs
The Horned Frogs pay $3500 for every $100 bet to win the NCAA Tournament Championship. TCU, of course, became a household name after making it all the way into the College Football Playoff Championship where they were crushed by UGA.
The Horned Frogs earned a No. 6 seed in this year's tournament and come into their game against the winner of the play-in game between No. 11 seeds Nevada and Arizona State.
They have had limited success in college basketball. TCU started having success in 2018 with two appearances since that time.
The Horned Frogs did manage to advance out of the first round, just barely, with a 72-70 win over ASU.

Texas A&M Aggies
Alabama's Brandon Miller scored 23 points and grabbed 12 rebounds as the fourth-ranked Crimson Tide smothered No. 18 Texas A&M 82-63 on Sunday for the Crimson Tide’s second SEC Tournament championship in three seasons.
Texas A&M was a -2.5 favorite versus Penn State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament but ultimately lost that game badly, 76-59, failing to advance.
