Philadelphia 76ers Advance to Next Round With Elimination of the Nets in Four

76ers Eliminate the Nets
(April 22, 2023) - The Philadelphia 76ers have advanced to the next round after eliminating the Brooklyn Nets in four games for the sweep. The Sixers had covered in six straight games as well. This win was 96-88 with Philadelphia a -6 point favorite early on, then to -2.
The 76ers line drop to -2 was a result of the absence of their star Joel Embiid.
The sweep was historic too. Philadelphia swept a best-of-seven series for the first time since defeating Milwaukee in the second round in 1985.
Tobias Harris scored 14 of his 25 points in the second half. Reserve De'Anthony Melton scored all 15 of his points in the fourth quarter.
Next up for the Sixers, either No. 2 Boston Celtics or the No. 7 Atlanta Hawks.

76ers’ Joel Embiid is apparently worth four points as he'll be out for Game 4. Embiid is out for this one with a sprained knee.
The NBA’s leading scorer did block a shot to protect a two-point lead with 8.8 seconds left and said after the game he was OK.
"It's not frustrating," Embiid said Thursday, before the report of his knee sprain. "Obviously, they have a game plan. It doesn't matter who's guarding me. It doesn't matter if it's the big man or the smaller guys. As we saw, as soon as I close out, they're just sending the double team or the triple teams.
"There's really nothing I can do but make plays for my teammates and that's fine. It's the playoffs. We got to do whatever it takes to win."
