Continuar is among the biggest long shots in this year's Kentucky Derby.  He'll pay out $5000 for every $100 bet with an upset win.

Continuar was sired by Drefong out of the King Kamehameha mare Pan De Ring and is trained by Yoshito Yahagi.  Many have been down on this horse as a result of his poor workout the other day.

There are also those questions as to whether Japanese horses are cut out for the Kentucky Derby.  There's a big difference between the training regiment, as noted by BloodHorse:

Most American horses are on the track for a short period (20-30 minutes) and are hand walked in the barns before and after they train. In Japan, riders are usually aboard their horses for over an hour which includes extended time doing flat work in the chute.

Continuar also draws a post position that's delivered just two winners, granted they were both in the last 15 years.  The 20 spot actual brought us last year's winner Rich Strike.

Lord Miles might be in a tougher spot at 30-1 odds.  He starts at No. 19, a post position that has brought us a single winner.

Lord Miles did win the Wood Memorial (his most recent start).  That came on the heels of a 5th place finish in the Tampa Bay Derby.

We would note that, between 1930 and 2000, eleven winners of the Wood Memorial went on to win the Kentucky Derby (Gallant Fox, Twenty Grand, Johnstown, Count Fleet, Hoop Jr., Assault, Foolish Pleasure, Bold Forbes, Seattle Slew, Pleasant Colony and Fusaichi Pegasus).

Rocket Can will start off at the No. 18 post position.  Three winners have started here, including two in the last eight years: Country House (2019), American Pharoah (2015).

He won the Holy Bull, finished 2nd in the Fountain of Youth and came in a respectable 4th in the Arkansas Derby.  Rocket Can pays $3000 for every $100 bet.
