The WSOP Bad Beat That Resulted in One Player Winning $5.2 Million

Chris Brewer has won his first World Series of Poker bracelet and it wasn't just any typical win.  He accomplished the victory courtesy of a sick bad beat.  And Brewer also walked away with a cool $5.2 million.

It happened at the $250,000 Super High Roller tournament.

Chris Brewer had over 70,000,000 chips to Artur Martirosyan’s 32.9K.  Martirosyan raised with Ace-King and Brewer re-raised with Ace-7 followed by his opponent calling immediately, which led to an all-in situation and Martirosyan standing a 72 percent chance of winning.

There was a flop, King 9-5 and now Brewer stood just a two percent chance of winning (Martirosyan a 98 percent chance of doing so).

The turn: An 8. Brewer needed one of the three 6s left (the fourth? A spade that would have given his opponent a flush).  And he got it, Brewer wins!!!!

Mike "The Mouth" Matusow responded to the victory.

"This has happened for me exactly zero times in 26 yrs! But I don’t shove a7 off for almost 30bb either so prolly never will! Congrats Chris Brewer an all around good guy!"

Brewer has certainly enjoyed success in his live tournament career.  He's amassed $15,389,190 so far.
