(June 23, 2023) - The 44-33 Miami Marlins continue their winning ways and will once again face a Pittsburgh Pirates team with one of the worst bullpens in the MLB Friday June 23. The Marlins were sitting just outside the Top 10 in terms of best bullpens whereas Pittsburgh had the second worst bullpen in the MLB. Miami was winning 60% of their games heading into late June.

(June 23, 2023) - Just a few weeks ago we would have gotten this line under -170. In fact, it technically opened at -163.
Jesus Luzardo is 6-5 with a 4.09 ERA and is following a classic win-loss-win-loss pattern, coming off a win against Washington his last start.
He gave up six runs in the prior loss to the Mariners and five in his loss before that one against the Padres. Following the pattern, we might expect something similar on this day.
The Pirates having been scoring many runs, so we'll avoid the OVER here.
Marlins Enjoy Nice Win Thanks to Pirates Hapless Bullpen
(June 22, 2023) - The Pittsburgh Pirates have one of the worst bullpens and this ensured the 6-4 victory over Miami Thursday.
Garrett Cooper doubled, singled and hit a go-ahead three-run homer in the eighth inning as the Miami Marlins beat Pittsburgh 6-4 Thursday night and extended the Pirates' losing streak to 10 games.
Trailing 4-1, the Marlins rallied against Pirates relievers Dauri Moreta and Carmen Mlodzinski in the eighth.
The Marlins did push us to yet another victory.

Braxton Garrett has Been Hot
(June 22, 2023) - Braxton Garrett (3-2, 3.88 ERA) will face off against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Thursday.
Through 14 appearances (13 starts), the Miami Marlins lefty owns a 3.88 ERA with a 1.22 WHIP, and his 5.5 K/BB ratio is top five in baseball.
Garrett fanned eight while allowing one run over six innings in defeating the Nationals on Saturday. Prior to that he struck out nine in 5 1/3 scoreless frames against the White Sox. He did not factor into the decision however. Garrett has two wins in his last three starts and no losses since May 3.
Mitch Keller racked up seven strikeouts over five innings of four-run baseball in a losing effort against the Brewers on Saturday afternoon but won his previous start for the Pirates and is 8-3 with a 3.62 ERA.
Joey Wendle is four-for-six going up against Keller.
