Mets slated starter Justin Verlander (3-4, 3.60 ERA) was charged with three runs (two earned) over six innings on Friday in a no-decision against the Padres prior to the All Star Break. He won his previous start but did not have a victory in the six games before this one.
The Mets come into Friday's game as a +105 dog hosting the Dodgers. Note: This game is marked as potentially being impacted by weather.
The total on this game is 8.5 with four of the last five Verlander has started staying UNDER this number. Seven of the last ten games in this series have stayed UNDER 8.5 as well.
Verlander has allowed just 12 hits in 66 at bats (.182) versus the current Dodgers lineup.
Julio Urías (6-5, 4.76 ERA) yielded two runs over six innings on Thursday in a win over the Pirates. Urias lost in his two previous starts, though these were spread far apart. Against the Royals, he up five runs on six hits in his three innings of work. This was coming off an injury however.
Urías has been sensational against the Mets, allowing just 10 hits off of 52 at bats (.192).
Both these starters are capable of going deep.
But in the end, 8 of the Dodgers last ten games have seen them score 5 or more runs. This will keep us from backing the Under.
Brewers @ Reds
The total on this game has been set to 10 as the total has gone OVER in 8 of Milwaukee's last 10 games and 11 of Cincinnati's last 16 games. Interestingly, the total has only gone OVER 10 in three of the last ten games of this series.
Milwaukee has won ten of the last thirteen games of this series and nine of eleven playing on the road against Cincinnati.
Milwaukee will start Corbin Burnes (7-5, 3.94 ERA). He's won his last two games, including against these same Reds his last start. That game ended up hitting the current number of 10 runs when all was said and done.
Burnes is sick versus this Reds lineup. He's allowed just 13 hits on 98 at bats against them, including two home runs.
Graham Ashcraft starts for Cincinnati. He is 4-6 with a 6.28 ERA. Ashcraft won his last start versus the Nationals where he limited them to just one run over six innings. Before that he surrendered just one run in 6 2/3 innings and struck out seven against the Padres but was tagged for six runs in four innings by the Braves in his prior start.
Ashcraft has permitted 11 hits off of 35 at bats versus the current Brewers roster. They've also homered off of him in four of those at bats.
Really do like the Brewers in this one, especially at -112.
