International Game Technology Shuts Down Japan Operations

As part of its ongoing focus on operating efficiencies, International Game Technology (NYSE: IGT) today announced its decision to close its Japan operations due to ongoing difficult market conditions and lack of strategic fit. The closure is targeted for completion by the early part of IGT's third quarter of fiscal 2010.

IGT currently estimates charges, including severance, of up to a total of $20 million will be recorded in the second and third quarters of fiscal 2010.
