There is a new online sportsbook coming to Arizona, Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee, and Virginia.
Well, not exactly new.
Hard Rock International, owned and operated by the Seminole Tribe of Florida, announced on Wednesday it will be rebranding its Hard Rock Sportsbook.
The Hard Rock sports betting and iGaming app in New Jersey will be rebranded to Hard Rock Bet later this summer. New Jersey is one of a handful of US states that also offers online casino games.
The Seminoles could also relaunch their sports betting app in the state of Florida following a U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit ruling overturning a federal judge determination that their compact with the state violated the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA).
West Flagler previously objected to the compact and sued to prevent it. They have since sold their Magic City Casino but still own Casino Miami.
Attorneys for West Flagler have remained silent in regard to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit ruling.
The parimutuels also argued that the compact violates the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act, which governs only gambling that happens on tribal lands. Written in the 1980s, IGRA does not appear to address digital wagering. The Seminoles insist that all bets would occur on the servers contained on tribal land.
The Seminoles briefly launched a sports betting app prior to the federal judge ruling.
