We opted for the Astros and we'll go right to them today to analyze this game as the Rays are completely imploding.
Brandon Bielak (5-5, 3.62 ERA) surrendered six runs — three earned — in 4 2/3 innings Monday against the Rangers but was impressive before that as he blanked the Rockies for 5 2/3 innings.
Zack Littell owns a 5.11 ERA and has too limited of experience to make a determination on the potential outcome for this game.
Arizona is another team that is coming unraveled following a strong start. They've only won three of their last ten games.
Luis Castillo is a sick .103 (6 for 58 at bats) vs. the current Diamondbacks lineup. He is 6-7 with a 3.02 ERA for the Mariners.
He does not have a win in his last three. He yielded just two runs and four hits in seven innings and struck out nine versus the Twins on Monday.
Seattle for some time had one of the best bull pens but that's been diminishing of late. Castillo, however, has shown he can last well into the 7th inning. We would add that the Diamondbacks are losing games because they currently have one of the worst bull pens in the MLB.
Merrill Kelly owns a 9-4 record with a 3.12 ERA for the Diamondbacks. He hasn't had a win in his last two starts. He was charged with one run over six innings on Tuesday in a no-decision against the Cardinals.
