We are now live at the G911 Sports Hub. We're taking a bit of a hit of late. Last night we had the UNDER 8 heading into OT with the Blue Jays-Orioles game tied 3-3 only to have a bunch of runs scored in extra innings. Let's look at Wednesday's plays.
Twins @ Brewers
Kenta Maeda (3-7, 4.13 ERA) yielded three runs in four-plus innings Wednesday in a no-decision against the Tigers his last start and actually suffered the loss in his previous start to that one, also against the Tigers, where he allowed just one run in six innings. He had a win permitting a single run in his previous start.
Maeda has faced these Brewers 56 times and they've had 13 hits against him (.232) with zero home runs.
The Milwaukee Brewers have recorded the ninth lowest wOBA and seventh highest strikeout rate at home with a righty.
Corbin Burnes (9-6, 3.43 ERA) has not had a win over his last four starts. Burnes shut out the Dodgers for seven innings in a no-decision Thursday. He gave up five runs in his previous start to the White Sox.
Burnes has only permitted 11 hits on 67 at bats versus these Twins (.177).
Minnesota has scored four or fewer runs in six of their last ten games overall while allowing three or fewer runs in six of ten.
Milwaukee has fared much better with scoring but hasn't permitted an opposing team to score over 3 runs in six of their last ten games.
Red Sox @ Astros
Chris Sale was terrific in a no-decision against the Tigers in his return from the injured list, surrendering two runs on just one hit over his 4 2/3 innings of work. He followed that up by allowing three runs (two earned) over 4 1/3 innings on Thursday in a loss to the Nationals.
Sale has faced just six of the current Astros batters but in 73 at bats allowed 22 hits and 7 home runs. Jose Altuve and Alex Bregman have done much of the damage.
Jose Urquidy is 2-3 with a 5.21 ERA. He has not had a win over his last three starts. He gave up a single run against the Angels in his last appearance.
