Illinois regulated sportsbooks do not permit betting on in-state school teams like the Fighting Illini.  You can certainly still place your bets on Illinois schools from the state using a local bookie or offshore sportsbook licensed internationally.

The line on this game opened at Penn State -15 and had moved down a half point, though most of the spread action was coming in on the Lions early.  The very early line was coming in at -16 with some books.

Penn State comes into this game 2-0 having just beaten West Virginia.

Drew Allar threw for 325 yards and three touchdowns in his first career start to help No. 7 Penn State beat West Virginia 38-15 on Saturday night in their season opener.

“That’s the Drew we saw in preseason camp. That’s the Drew we saw in limited reps last year,” coach James Franklin said. “He was extremely poised.”

Illinois is off to a rough start this season.

Making his season debut, Jalon Daniels threw for 280 yards and two touchdowns, and Devin Neal ran for 120 yards and another score, sending the Jayhawks past Illinois 34-23 in the first meeting between the Power Five schools since 1968.

“I could tell today when we were doing some walkthrough stuff Jalon felt really good. He was really anxious to play,” Kansas coach Lance Leipold said. “I felt he was ready. I didn't see any apprehension that he was worried about anything.”

The Fighting Illini did win their first game of the season 30-28 to Toledo.
