Penn State vs. Northwestern Betting Action
The Penn State vs. Northwestern game spread is intriguing to us. While cash bets are mostly coming in balanced, tickets and consensus plays are well over 80 percent and the house (almost) always wins so the Wildcats are pretty appealing here at +27.
>Consensus plays with 70% or more of the action when either the tickets or cash or both were seeing 80% of the action, or more have gone 15-3 through Week 4 for the house. That's a pretty remarkable number.
The line on this game has mostly hovered between 26.5 and 27.
We have to keep in mind that Penn State is 4-0 both Straight Up and Against The Spread while Northwestern is 2-2 SU and ATS. The Cats even managed a win over Minnesota last week.
Penn State's closest loss was by 17 points, however, two of their games were won by fewer points than the current spread.
Northwestern will have their work cut out for them. In Penn State's most recent game, a 31-0 shutout of visiting Iowa, the defense held the Hawkeyes to 76 total yards.
"They're aggressive. They're balanced. You can't find a weakness on that defense," said Northwestern's head coach David Braun of the Nittany Lions. "Really well-coached. Willing to play tight coverage. Mix in some different looks. Put stress on you on first and second down."
The Wildcats Ben Bryant was 33-of-49 passing for 396 yards and four TDs with no interceptions.
