The G2E Keynote Sports Betting with Jason Robins, Amy Howe discussion hosted by Contessa Brewer of CNBC included plenty of criticism of the offshore sportsbook industry, twice the age of either Robins DraftKings or Howe's FanDuel, and their favorite target of late, the Daily Fantasy Sports companies.

The majority of sports bets placed in the US are still via unlicensed bookmakers, the DraftKings CEO said during Wednesday's opening day of the G2E conference.  He added that the first phase of US sports betting is capturing the illegal market; the next phase is attracting people who otherwise wouldn't have been interested in betting in the first place.

Robins continued to take shots at newer Daily Fantasy Sports sites like PrizePicks and Underdog Fantasy.  At the same time, PrizePicks CEO Adam Wexler sent out a statement accusing DraftKings and FanDuel of abandoning further legislation pushes in the DFS space.

SBC Americas Jessica Wellman mocked Robins.

"Jason Robins discussing the perils of unregulated DFS and the need for regulation and internal controls as if DK does not continue to offer DFS in the same unregulated markets as the sites he is subtly taking a shot at."
