  • Quite a few of the sportsbooks on Sunday were offering Eagles -6.5 after moving to -7

  • Philadelphia was seeing around 75% of the public action ahead of this late game

The line on the Eagles-Jets game was trending from -6 to -7 across the board as the 75% or greater of the spread action flows in on Philadelphia.  Yet as of Sunday morning, a number of books including BetOnline, Bovada, Circa and Bookmaker were dangling the 6.5 in what appeared an obvious attempt to get more money on Philadelphia.  Pinnacle also held the number at 6.5.  For the savvy sports bettor, New York looked kind of enticing.

We need to warn everyone that all the sports handicappers appear to be siding with Philadelphia here.  Gambling911 did pull the trigger on the Jets.

It's interesting to note that Sagarin gives us a number of Philadelphia -3.95, indicating a 2.5 to 3 point overlay.

Philadelphia comes into this game undefeated and with a 3-1-1 record Against The Spread. New York is 2-3 with a 3-2 ATS record.

These two teams last met in 2021 with Philadelphia winning 33-18. In modern times, dating back to 2007, the Jets have failed to win against Philadelphia in five meetings.

The Jets rallied past Denver last week 31-21.  Breece Hall’s 72-yard touchdown run and Bryce Hall’s 39-yard game-winning field goal helped to seal the deal.

“You know, it feels good to get a win in the league against anybody,” Jets coach Robert Saleh said. ”But it was a special game for Hack, obviously, being here a year ago. We racked up over 400 yards on them, put up 31 points.”

Zach Wilson, making his fourth straight start in place of the injured Aaron Rodgers, was 19 of 26 for 199 yards and the interception.

The Eagles, meanwhile, walked away with a 23-14 victory against the Rams last week, covering a 4-point spread.

"In my opinion they (the Eagles) are the best team on both sides of the ball," commented Jared Smith of BetUS TV.  "This game, the handicap, revolves around two things.  One, obviously the Eagles offensive line being bullies but to me the Eagles defensive line against the Jets O line without their best offensive linesman, Alijah Vera-Tucker, who is on IR, I don't see how the Jets block the Eagles this week."
