Odds for Aspinall-Pavlovich as Miocic-Jones Called Off
UFC Nation was dealt a devastating blow Tuesday night when Dana White announced that the 295 headliner fight between Stipe Miocic and Jon Jones was off due to a pectoral injury suffered by the latter.
The 36-year-old Jones will require surgery after sustaining the injury on Tuesday (24 October).
“Jon Jones was training last night, got injured,” said UFC president Dana White on Wednesday morning, sharing footage of the incident. “He was wrestling, and he tore the tendon that connects your pec to the bone... off the bone.
“Eight months [out], gonna need surgery, he’s out. So, the main event is Prochazka vs Pereira. The co-main event now is Pavlovich vs Aspinall for the interim heavyweight championship.”
The historical matchup has been replaced by a bout between Sergei Pavlovich and Tom Aspinall, where the victor will be crowned interim heavyweight champion.
SportsBetting.ag set odds for the Aspinall-Pavlovich fight Wednesday morning, opening Aspinall as a -125 favorite (Pavlovich +105). Early action came in on the favorite, bumping him to as high as -150, but the line has moved again and here are the current odds:
Sergei Pavlovich +116
Tom Aspinall -136
