Cavs Look to Go 9-3 Against The Spread Despite Winning Just 3 Games This Season

RICHMOND, VA (Gambling911.com) - Ahead of the interstate rivalry versus the Virginia Tech Hokies, the Cavaliers had won just 3 games this season and were a +2.5 to +3 point home dog.

Virginia is 8-3 Against The Spread entering this game.  Only Hawaii covered in 9 games last season while ending with a losing record Straight Up (3-10).

We liked the Virginia Tech Hokies and assumed the betting public might as well.  We were wrong in that regard as Virginia was seeing better than 75% of the early spread action.  AcePerHead internal data shows a much closer competition, we would note.

We get a number of 1.8 Virginia Tech, which is right on the money for the most part.

Fanatics Goes Live in Virginia

Fanatics this week entered the Virgina market with its sports betting app.

In August 2023, Fanatics acquired the US businesses of PointsBet and has been in the process of migrating customers from that book over to the Fanatics Sportsbook app.

The commonwealth's sports wagering handle topped $520m in September, according to the Virginia Lottery. This represents a rise of 26.5 per cent compared to September 2022 and a rise from $319m in August.
