Lions Bears Betting Preview

We were seeing around 65% of the spread action going the Lions way.  Underlays in the 3/3.5 range have not enjoyed a significant edge in the NFL based on our model.  This is true in college football too.

Lions are winners of eight of their last ten overall while Chicago won three of their last six, losing to the Lions by five points on the road during this span.

Detroit has won the last three games in this series, two by double digits.

Lions rookie Sam LaPorta is the NFL’s first tight end with 60-plus catches, 600 yards receiving and six touchdowns in the first 12 games of his career.  He is favored to have 37+ receiving yards in this game.

In the win last week against Minnesota, Bears quarterback Justin Fields bounced back from two fourth-quarter fumbles to lead the winning field-goal drive.  He is listed at 194.5 passing yards (Over/Under).

Jared Goff completed 16-of-25 attempts for 213 yards and two touchdowns in the Lions’ 33-28 Week 13 win against the Saints, adding two rushes for -2 yards.   He was listed at 194.5 Over/Under passing yards.
