LA Lakers Betting Tips and Trends
The LA Lakers ranked No. 8 on Sagarin.
December 12
The Lakers Sagarin number was coming in at 92.85 as they were set to face off against the Dallas Mavericks on the road.
The Lakers were 15-9 Straight Up while Dallas was 14-8. The Mavericks are 6-1 against LA over their last seven meetings.
LA opened as the -2 favorite with the line moving up to -4.5. Action came in as balanced.
We had Dallas 2.03 as the wrong team appeared to be favored here.
The Mavs, however, played and won Monday night. Both teams could be missing big stars.
Game Vincent has been out for LA since late October.
“Guard Gabe Vincent is hopeful for a return as soon as Dec. 18 for the Lakers’ home game against the Knicks, according to league sources,” wrote Shams Charania of The Athletic on December 11. “Vincent has been limited to just four games this season because of rehabilitation from left knee effusion.”
Lebron James is listed as questionable for the Lakers with a calf injury.
Luka Doncic (low back contusion), Derrick Jones Jr. (left quad contusion), and Tim Hardaway Jr. (back spasms) were listed as questionable for the Mavs.
Kyrie Irving (right heel contusion), Josh Green (right elbow sprain), and Maxi Kleber (right small toe dislocation) are all out for Dallas.
Dallas just might not have enough left in the tank for this back-to-back game.
The Mavs are just 22nd in the NBA in rebounding.
Winners and Whiners offered this as well:
It is also worth noting that the Lakers are 10th in the league in 3-point defense which is critical against a Mavs team that is 9th in 3-point shooting and #1 in the league in the percentage of points off of the 3-point shot.
Favorites opening at 2 or 2.5 are now 10-3 Against The Spread over the past three weeks.
