Bengals vs. Steelers Prop Bets
This is a very important game. Currently, Pittsburgh (7-7) has a 6% chance of making the playoffs. A loss here it is safe to say they are out of contention.
The 8-6 Bengals were left for dead just a few weeks ago but managed to pull off three straight victories after their starting quarterback Joe Burrow went down with a season ending wrist injury. They've moved into the sixth seed in the AFC playoff picture.
Unfortunately, both teams play in an extremely competitive AFC North division.
The Cleveland Browns, who have undergone their own diversity this season, currently rank fifth in the AFC – second in the AFC North – and there are eight different possible scenarios for Week 16 with the Browns potentially clinching a playoff berth for the first time since 2020.
They are not even the best team in the division. That designation goes to the Baltimore Ravens, who currently sit on top in the conference and are set to play a mega game Christmas night against the top NFC team, the San Francisco 49ers.
Jake Browning has filled the void nicely in place of Burrow after looking lost after taking over in that November 26 game against Pittsburgh.
He returned to complete 32-of-37 passes for 354 yards and one touchdown in the Bengals’ 34-31, Week 13 overtime win over the Jaguars (8-6). He added 22 yards and a touchdown on two carries.
The following week, Browning completed 18-of-24 passes for 275 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception in the Bengals’ 34-14, Week 14 win over the Colts (currently 8-6)
Last week, he completed 29-of-42 passes for 324 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception in the Bengals’ 27-24, Week 15 win over the Vikings.
Browning's passing yard total was set at 239.5 for this game.
The Steelers come into this game having lost three straight. They'll be without their starting quarterback Kenny Pickett, benched his backup Mitch Trubisky, lost starting safety Minkah Fitzpatrick to a knee injury and their other starting safety -- Damontae Kazee -- was suspended.
Add to that Cincinnati has had the upper hand of late in this series. They've won four of the last six.
Mason Rudolph fills in with a passing yard total set at 187.5.
Action was still 55% to 60% on the Bengals spread. The line had moved from -1 to -3 Cincinnati in response. We get a number of Bengals 3.78, which suggests a mostly accurate line leaning towards a slight underlay. On the money lines and underlays in the 2.5/3 range without going over the 3 bode especially well for the favorite.
