This weekend the NASCAR Sprint Cup series racing stars stop at Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the 2010 Shelby American. Kyle Busch will attempt to defend his 2009 race win after two consecutive 14th place finishes to start the year.

The Track:
Las Vegas Motor Speedway is a 1.5 mile "D" shaped race track. LVMS was reconfigured in 2007 from the previous 12 degrees of banking up to 20 degrees. The extra banking and the new pavement caused speeds to be climb and Las Vegas is now be one of the fastest tracks on the Sprint Cup circuit.

Race Distance:
267 laps = 400.5 miles
The Big Picture:
Last week Kevin Harvick's second top ten of the year moved him up into the point lead. Early in the year big point moves are still possible. For example, last week Jimmie Johnson jumped up 23 places to twelfth overall.
