The race goes off Sunday, 3:00 pm Eastern - Fox

The Sprint Cup Series in NASCAR moves to Las Vegas this week for the Shelby American on Sunday.  Jimmie Johnson is the 4-1 favorite in NASCAR odds at SBG Global but there are a number of other contenders.  Johnson is coming off a win last week at California and has won this race three times (2005-2007).  He has had problems the last two years though, finishing 24th and 29th.  It is pretty much all or nothing for Johnson in Las Vegas which is just how it is for many gamblers who visit the city.

Jeff Gordon has not started this season very well but he could turn things around in Vegas.  He won this race in 2001 and in the past five years he has finished sixth or better in four of the five races. Gordon is 9-1 in NASCAR odds to win this race at SBG Global. Tony Stewart is another driver off to a slow start this season. He finished 22nd at Daytona and 9th last week in California.  He really wants to win at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway since he has never won a race there. He is 10-1 in NASCAR odds.  "These early races teach you very quickly where your program is compared to the competition," said Stewart, "If your cars are good, you'll run well at California, Vegas, Atlanta, Texas and so on. Everybody wants to know where they stack up and shake up right now. If you can get off to a good start, it shows that your program is really where it needs to be. This is a huge week."

When you are talking about Las Vegas you can't forget about the Busch brothers.  This is their hometown and both of them love the track. Kyle won last year and he is the third choice this week behind Johnson and Mark Martin in NASCAR odds.  Kyle won the pole last year and was dominant all weekend.  He has four top-10s in six starts at Las Vegas. His brother Kurt is not getting much attention this week and could be an interesting longshot at 16-1.

Don't forget about the Rousch cars in Las Vegas since they have won six of the twelve Cup races.  Greg Biffle has not been among those winners so he could be due at odds of 13-1.  Carl Edwards is 16-1 while Matt Kenseth is 18-1.
