BetOnline Study Shows Swift vs. Trump Popularity
With Taylor Swift not only taking over the Super Bowl headlines but also political headlines this week, we started wondering who is more popular: Taylor Swift or Donald Trump? (Find odds for both here)
The marketing team at BetOnline.ag conducted a semi-scientific study to find the answer to that question. The results, as well as a cool infomap to accompany the findings, are below (you have permission to use both in your content).
The study was based on geotagged X (Twitter) data during the last 30 days, tracking positive sentiment tweets, hashtags and direct keyword phrases about Trump and Swift in each state.
For example, #MAGA, #Trump2024, #TrumpTrain or #Swiftie, #Swifties, #TaylorNation.
More than 500,000 tweets were tracked in total (Negative sentiment tweets were not tracked, for example there are a lot of tweets with the hashtag #MAGA that are not showing support).
As you can see from the map, Taylor Swift edges out Donald Trump in a state-by-state count. Here's the breakdown:
Swift: 29 states (Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois. Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada. New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin)
Trump: 21 states (Alabama, Alaska, Florida, Idaho, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Montana, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, West Virginia, Wyoming)
In actual politics news, Tucker Carlson released the Vladimir Putin interview last night. It mostly fell flat, which has results in receiving a fraction of the attention Swift and Trump have this week.
Still, the oddsmakers at BetOnline updated their markets for when Putin will be removed/step down as president (the odds favor this year, next year or a LONG time from now), as well as who will be the next world leader to leave his position.
What year will Vladimir Putin cease to be President of Russian Federation?
