The Pomeroy College Basketball Ratings provide us with a fairly accurate idea of what the line should be on a particular game.  We have done the math so you don't have to and come up with a line on the Texas A&M Aggies vs. Alabama Crimson Tide college basketball game Saturday February 17.  Our line is Alabama -9.5That's where it opened too.

Aggies Recent Performance

The Aggies lost a final seconds heart breaker to Vanderbilt Tuesday just in time for Valentine's Day.

Ezra Manjon scored 19 points and his last field goal of the night came at the buzzer to send Vanderbilt to a thrilling 74-73 win over Texas A&M.  There were a total of 21 lead changes in this one.

Texas A&M had opened as a -9.5 favorite with the line dropping to -8.5.

Vanderbilt owns a 6-17 record and ranks towards the bottom of the Pomeroy College Basketball Ratings.  The line we got following our Pomeroy College calculations came out to 9.96, leaving us with little value when comparing the actual number.

Wade Taylor IV scored 18 points, Radford 17, reserve Henry Coleman III 13 and Jace Carter 11 for Texas A&M, which made all 17 of its foul shots.

Taylor has been among the most consistent scorers in the SEC, averaging 19.8 points per game through 21 games played.

Crimson Tide Recent Performance

The Tide pummeled LSU in their February 10 game as a -8.5 road favorite.

Alabama guard Latrell Wrightsell had season highs of 21 points and 10 rebounds, Mark Sears scored 23 points and No. 16 Alabama made a handful of deep shots to break open a tight game in the final nine minutes of a 109-92 victory over LSU on Saturday.

“We’re not supposed to pass up any open 3s,” said Wrightsell, whose six 3-pointers on nine attempts pleased Alabama coach Nate Oats.

The Pomeroy numbers gave us a line of 8.19, also providing little in the way of any value.

Sixers? Knicks? Who Can Challenge Boston in the East this Season?

As the new NBA season gets underway, there is most certainly a sense that the Boston Celtics are the team to beat once again. The 18-time champions really took an “if it’s not broken, don’t try to fix it” policy in the offseason, and it’s hard to argue with the tactic.
