A suspicious betting pattern or just a really lousy team.

A number of sportsbooks opted not to take bets on the Temple Owls basketball game over the weekend.  They faced off, and beat, the UTSA Roadrunners.

U.S. Integrity has reportedly been monitoring Temple games for much of the season, according to SI.com.

U.S. Integrity and RealResponse last May launched a tipline for college athletes, coaches and support staff to anonymously report gambling-related issues in real time.

U.S. Integrity was involved in detecting the Alabama Crimson Tide baseball betting scandal last spring that led to the firing of coach Brad Bohannon.

Specifically, the company was paying special attention to a game between the UAB Blazers and Temple Thursday night resulting in UAB winning 100-72.

“We are aware they flagged it,” AAC men’s basketball director of communications Tom Fenstermaker says.

Gregory Gorla commented on the news that some sportsbooks opted not to offer betting on the Temple-UTSA game over the weekend.

"This is a mistake by the sportsbooks.  If there is something nefarious going on, more information would only be helpful."

A spokesperson for the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) said the organization could not comment on investigations when approached by various news organizations.
