NHL MVP Payout Odds 2024 - A Tight Race

The frenetic trade deadline is behind us, and as we enter the final five weeks of the regular season the competition for the Hart Trophy is heating up.

The current favorites are four superstars (and three previous MVP recipients), and the man who has taken the honors two out of the last three years is third on the odds board, via SportsBetting.ag.

Nathan MacKinnon is listed as the odds-on favorite at -125.

MacKinnon extended his home points streak to 31 games with a goal and three assists and the Colorado Avalanche beat the Detroit Red Wings 7-2 on March 6.

MacKinnon had his second straight four-point game. He has an NHL-leading 109 points.

Auston Matthews comes in with the second shortest odds but has cooled off some this month.  He is the NHL's leading goal scorer currently.

"I mean, stuff like that happens sometimes," Matthews said following practice on Monday. "The puck's not just going to go in all the time. I thought there were some good things. Obviously, I want to produce. I want to help the team and do my part."
