The Chicago White Sox general manager Chris Getz was feeling good about his team coming into 2024.

“I feel like we’ve raised the IQ of our club, which was something we wanted to accomplish out here,” general manager Chris Getz said. “I think we are going to reap the rewards as the season goes on.”

“We brought in a ton of guys that we felt were talented,” said manager Pedro Grifol after Monday’s exhibition game against Triple-A Charlotte. “But when you bring in a lot of guys, what happens is you don’t know how they’re going to jell together. Over the offseason, and this camp, these guys have kind of turned into a team.”

Young players that include right-handers Jordan Leasure and Nick Nastrini as well as Opening Day starter Garrett Crochet are expected to have elevated roles and learn as they go.

Crochet (0-1) went six innings and took the loss on Opening Day against the Tigers, allowing just one run on five hits and no walks. He struck out eight.

BetOnline has 2024 performance prop bets for three White Sox players early on.
