Avatar Oscar Odds: How Many Will Be Won?

It's amazing how much things can change as box office smash Avatar, once a -300 favorite, had its Oscar odds reduced to just better than even at Sports Interaction.com (see website here) and everywhere else for that matter.  The Hurt Locker was now the favorite to win "Best Picture".

One of the more intriguing odds offerings for Avatar had to be how many Oscars this film would walk off with.  In the technical category, Avatar seems like a "lock".

More than 4 Oscars won had a line of -120, which isn't all that bad.  There is a risk involved.  Essentially one has to wager $12 to win $10 (the $12 is refunded should Avatar win more than 4 Oscars).

Exactly 4 Oscars had a line of +300, meaning that $30 would be paid for every $10 bet or $300 for every $100 bet.

The Under 4 pays $20 for every $10 bet.

A technically brilliant film, many believe that Avatar lacks an original script, borrowing heavily from past films, in particular "Dances With Wolves" (a film that won "Best Picture" in 1990 incidentally).

The film is nominated for 9 Academy Awards.
