Now that the Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul fight is officially on the books as a sanctioned boxing match, let's take a look at how the odds have shifted.  BetOnline is one of the few websites that has been offering odds on Tyson vs. Paul.  All books were expected to begin taking bets now that it is no longer considered an exhibition bout.

“Mike Tyson and Jake Paul signed on to fight each other with the desire to do so in a sanctioned professional fight that would have a definitive outcome,” Most Valuable Promotions co-founder Nakisa Bidarian said in a statement. “Over the past six weeks MVP has worked with its partners to satisfy the requirements of the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations (TDLR) to sanction Paul vs. Tyson and we are grateful that we have gotten to this point.”

On March 7, when the fight was first announced, BetOnline.ag made Paul a -300 (1/3) favorite against the Tyson, who was listed as a 5/2 (+250) underdog.

As wagers have flooded in over the last 53 days, the odds have moved toward the old man. Here is the current fight line:

Mike Tyson       +190

Jake Paul          -240

Tyson, for his part, is giving up sex and weed ahead of the big fight.

"I’m living my life disciplined now, so I’m going to have to fight disciplined now," he said.

Tyson, during a 2018 TV interview, said he’d abstained from sex for about five years, apparently because he believed it would make him a better boxer.

"I'm an idiot, you know," he told Graham Bensinger during the interview back then. "… I just went by what people told me."

An interview with Damon Elliott took an unexpected turn when Tyson was asked if preparing for the fight is nerve-wracking.

"No," Tyson replied, "I said, 'Wow, how many friends am I going to lose or family members are going to turn on me now?'"

Because they all want the freebies, Elliott asked.

"No, they get them anyway, but they’re still going to hate me anyway," Tyson said. "I’m going to give them everything and they’re still going to say, '(expletive) you. I hate you.'"

"I can handle my enemies," Tyson continued. "But, God, please protect me from my family and friends. I can handle my enemies. Enemies are no problem. I just got my family and my friends that are just kinda a small complication."

Michael Bisping, the former middleweight world champion, offered his opinion on the July 20 fight.

“If Jake Paul loses, listen, it’s Mike Tyson, but still come on,” Bisping joked during an episode of his Believe You Me podcast. “He’s 58-years-old but stop it [if you lose] never show your face again. Then if Jake Paul knocks out a 58-year-old man that’s called elderly abuse. You can’t win here. Other than a lot of money.

“It’s only two minutes [per round] but if you’ve never boxed or fought you underestimate how long two minutes is… Mike Tyson, yeah he’s 58 and the rounds are only two minutes long, I think he’s still going to get tired after three rounds.

“That said Jake Paul leaves tremendously massive openings and he’s never fought anyone like Mike Tyson… He went the distance with Nate Diaz, he beat Nate Diaz and I’m not s***ting on him because he’s great, a cult icon.”

Prop bets for this fight are now anticipated whereas BetOnline was expected to limit the betting previous due to the exhibition status.
