May 10 MLB Betting Previews: Cubs-Pirates, Twins-Blue Jays
The Chicago will send Javier Assad to the mound on Friday.
Assad has been on fire of late and he will start for a team that's the +113 dog in this one.
The big question is whether Assad is due for a bad outing. He's 3-0 with a 1.66 ERA.
He allowed just one run on five hits in five innings in a no-decision against the Mets on Tuesday. and Assad struck out five over 5 2/3 innings while allowing just a run in a no-decision against the Astros in his prior start.
Jared Jones will start for the Pirates. He's 2-3 with a 2.63 ERA.
Jones tossed seven shutout innings with ten strikeouts in a no-decision against the Rockies on Saturday and was dealt a loss in his prior start.
Twins @ Bluejays
Toronto comes in as the -116 favorites as they prepare to host the Minnesota Twins.
Joe Ryan (1-2, 3.54 ERA) pitched six innings and allowed three runs Sunday in a loss to the Red Sox. His prior start was a no-decision.
Carlos Correa has had success versus Jays starter Yusei Kikuchi, who is 2-2 with an ERA of 2.72. Correa is 10 for 20 against him with two RBIs and no home runs.
In 77 at bats, Yusei Kikuchi has allowed just two home runs from Twins batters.
Kikuchi limited the Nationals to one run in six innings and fanned seven in a no-decision Friday. He had a loss in his prior start.
We see these two starters coming into this game hungry for a win. Six of the last ten head-to-heads have stayed under the current 7.5 total. The Twins have allowed 3 or fewer runs in six of their last ten. Toronto has scored three or fewer runs in six of their last ten games.
We are hitting the Under 7.5 here.
