Gamblers Split on Mets vs. Marlins Following Yesterday's Meltdown

If you were backing the New York Mets like we were Saturday, your mind could wander elsewhere.  After all, you had this. 

The Mets were up a few runs throughout much of the game.  By the 9th inning they were up 9-5. 

Game over, right?

WRONG!!!

Miami would come back to tie it up 9-9 and end up winning 10-9 in extra innings.

Josh Bell hit a tying homer off Edwin Díaz in a four-run ninth inning, the latest costly meltdown by the struggling New York Mets closer, and Otto Lopez singled home the winning run in the 10th as the Miami Marlins rallied for a 10-9 victory Saturday.

Lopez sent a one-out grounder up the middle off Jorge López (1-1) through a drawn-in infield to score automatic runner Christian Bethancourt from third base, and the last-place Marlins (15-32) stretched their winning streak to a season-best four games. It was Miami's fourth walk-off win of the year.

“It was nuts,” Bell said. “The fifth, sixth inning rolls around, you’re hearing the ‘Let’s go Mets’ chants. I know their fans travel well, but it was nice to hear our fans cheer."

Cappers were betting this game (we won't be) but were split.

Ryan Davis is 7-2-1 over his last ten MLB plays at the G911 Sports Hub.  He's backing New York.  Patrick Doyle hasn't made a play in a few days, thus preventing an appearance on the G911 leaderboard.  His last five MLB picks have gone 5-0 and he, too, is on the Mets.

Three of our top handicappers are backing Cleveland this day on the moneyline.  These include leaderboard leader Wayne Root, Robert Jones (whose been hit hard in the past few days) and Bill Blatt (3rd on the leaderboard).

Cleveland has won the last five games in this series.

Tanner Bibee has permitted one home run in 50 at bats versus this Minnesota squad.

He's 2-1 with a 4.34 ERA.

Bibee threw 5 1/3 innings of shutout ball in a no-decision in the Guardians’ 7-0 victory over the Rangers on Monday.   And before that, he gave up four runs in four innings Wednesday in a no-decision against the Tigers.

Chris Paddack (4.89, 4-2) starts for Minnesota. 

He allowed 12 hits and five earned runs over five innings in Tuesday’s loss to the Yankees but this was an "off" day for him as he permitted just one run with 10 strikeouts across 5 1/3 innings in a win over the Mariners prior to that disaster.
