Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said on Wednesday a national election would be held in the second half of the year when asked about rumours in parliament that the British leader might call a vote to take place in the summer.

That hasn't been much of a secret.

"Spoiler alert: there is going to be a general election in the second half of this year," Sunak told parliament.

But rumors began circulating on Wednesday that Sunak could call an election for as early as July.

Sunak's press secretary declined to be drawn on the rumours.

"I know there is a lot of interest in this, as there has been pretty much every week over the last five months, I will just say the same thing I have always said, which is I am not going to rule anything in or out," she said.

BetOnline continues to list Sunak as the favorite to be the next leader to leave office with at near even odds.

Sunak’s popularity has hit its lowest levels ever, according to a new YouGov poll.

The Prime Minister scored a net favorability rating of -49, which puts him on the same level as the Conservative Party and his predecessor Boris Johnson at the time of his resignation.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu came in with the second shortest odds at 2-1 to leave office.

The International Criminal Court is seeking arrest warrants for Hamas leader in Gaza Yahya Sinwar and Netanyahu on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity over the October 7 attacks on Israel and the subsequent war in Gaza, the court’s prosecutor Karim Khan told CNN’s Christiane Amanpour in an exclusive interview on Monday.

Next world leader to leave office odds were thrown into turmoil over the weekend with the sudden death of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi.  He was killed in a helicopter crash Sunday.
