Key takeaways:

Yesterday we correctly predicted that the Cubs-Cardinals game in St. Louis could be postponed, and it was.  The same could happen today as strong storms are expected to impact the Pittsburgh area around the time of the Braves-Pirates game.  There was a 90% or greater chance of rain between the 7 and 8 pm hour.  This one could end prior to then.

Braves @ Pirates Saturday Game

Probable Pitchers

R. Lopez - ATL
(2-1, 1.54)

M. Keller - PIT
(5-3, 3.84)

Atlanta Braves career statistics vs. Mitch Keller are 31 for 82 at bats with 16 RBIs.  Orlando Arcia is 4 for 5 against him while Travis d'Arnaud has contributed 4 RBIs in 6 starts.

Keller posted a quality start in Sunday’s victory over the Cubs, allowing two runs on just two hits over six frames. Keller tossed six shutout innings, recorded seven strikeouts and picked up the win in the Pirates’ 8-6 victory over the Brewers before that. In fact, his last three starts have been solid.  Keller's potential for a poor outing here is relatively high.

Know the Rules When Games Are Suspended, Postponed

The Orioles and St. Louis Cardinals suspended their game Tuesday night after a rainstorm rolled over Busch Stadium ahead of the bottom of the sixth inning. They plan to resume the contest, which was tied 1-1 when the grounds crew rolled out the tarp, at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday and play their series finale 30 minutes after.

Sportsbooks have different rules on suspended games just like they do for postponements. Most books may keep the bet active if the game is going to be resumed within 24 to 36 hours.

With DraftKings, for example, Bets on games suspended after they have started will have action as long as the game is resumed within 36 hours of the original start time.

Saturday's Weather Forecast

Pittsburgh is looking like it could be impacted by afternoon storms as their game against the Braves has a starting time of 4 pm.

These storms are expected to be scattered in nature and any disruption is more likely towards the end of this game.  Storms should clear the region shortly thereafter but we encourage readers to monitor this situation closely.

Sunday's Weather Forecast

St. Louis could see storms following an abundance of sunshine on Saturday.

Cincinnati may see scattered storms.

Detroit - Rain is possible at game time.

Chicago again looks stormy on Sunday.
