Cubs vs. Brewers Betting Preview May 29
A nice day is on tap for Wednesday's game between the Cubs and Brewers.
Shota Imanaga (5-0, 0.84 ERA) does not have a loss yet, but is this is still a situation where he's due for a win. He did not factor into the decision his last two starts.
The Cubs sit right at the .500 mark. They'll be taking on the Milwaukee Brewers, who are 31-22. These teams have mostly split wins and losses over their last ten meetings. Chicago was on a five-game losing streak coming into Tuesday night's game however.
As good as Imanaga is, he'll probably have to go deep to have any shot at a win due to the recent Cubs bullpen woes. Imanaga is more than capable of making it into the 7th inning.
Bryse Wilson starts for Milwaukee. He's faced these Cubs on 60 occasions, giving up just one home run. Wilson allowed two runs over 5 1/3 innings in a bulk role Friday and picked up a win against the Red Sox. Wilson took over with two outs in the first after Jared Koenig retired two of four batters, got out of the jam and then stayed in through the end of the sixth. Wilson is yet to win any of his six starts.
Only one of the last five games Wilson has pitched in have gone Over 7 runs. And seven of the last ten games in this series have resulted in no more than 7 runs.
Chicago has scored three or fewer runs in seven of their last ten games. Milwaukee has fared much better but scored 4 or fewer in half of their last ten games.
The total for this game was set at 7.5, thus making the Under an attractive play perhaps.
