2010 Academy Awards Prop Bets

Carrie Stroup here to inform Gambling911.com readers that Sportsbook.com has released a series of 2010 Academy Awards prop bets (see their website here and look under Exotics).

You could bet on the following:

If the acceptance speech for the Best Actor lasts less than 45 seconds you could win $17 for every $10 bet.  This was among the more popular 2010 Academy Awards prop bets according to the oddsmakers we've spoken to, though only a few online gambling websites (Sportsbook.com being one) were offering the prop.

The same odds were being given for the Best Actress and Best Supporting roles.

The Best Actress winner had slightly longer odds (+125) of not thanking either God, the Academy or a family member first (the payout would be $12.50 for every $10 bet).  The Best Actor had even odds of not thanking either God or a family member first.   Interestingly enough the oddsmakers were of the mindset that the Best Supporting Actress winner will most certainly thank either God, Family or The Academy first as she was getting odds of nearly 2/1 for not doing so.  The Best Supporting Actress winner was expected to be Mo Nique (Precious).  A $25 bet is required to win $10 for Mo Nique to thank either God, The Academy or Family.  This might have some value (the original bet amount is refunded should this be a winner).

The Best Actor crying during his acceptance speech pays out $20 for every $10 bet.

The Best Actress NOT crying pays out $15 for every $10 bet.
