U.S. president Joe Biden insisted in an interview he would not pardon his son Biden and the betting market seems to agree he won't.

Appearing on ABC News, Biden was asked if he would rule out a pardon for his son, who was facing three federal gun-related charges in court in Delaware, Biden answered simply, "Yes." Asked if he would accept the outcome of the jury trial, a first for an offspring of a sitting president, he again replied, "Yes."

On Tuesday, a jury did find Hunter Biden guilty on all three felony gun charges.  The law in question prevents drug addicts from owning firearms. The court heard testimony that Hunter "used crack-cocaine every 20 minutes or so".

In a statement, Hunter said he was "disappointed" by the guilty verdict but "grateful" for his family's love. President Biden expressed support for his son in a statement and said he would "respect the judicial process."

Hunter Biden could face up to 25 years in prison and a fine of up to $750,000 at sentencing.

The judge said sentencing is usually set for 120 days following a verdict.

Odds of a pardon of Hunter by his dad were set at greater than +600 or a 14% chance at Polymarket.

This market will resolve to "Yes" if Hunter Biden receives a presidential pardon, commutation, or reprieve by his father President Joseph Biden, before the time the next presidential inauguration starts. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No".

For this market to resolve to "Yes", the pardon, commutation, or reprieve must be issued by Joseph Biden within his first presidential term. If it becomes impossible for Joseph Biden issue a federal pardon, commutation, or reprieve within this market's timeframe, it may immediately resolve to "No".

The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the US government, however a consensus of credible reporting will also be used.
