What began as a highly-anticipated summer of UFC fights has turned into a series of setbacks.

According to UFC President Dana White, McGregor had to pull out of the fight due to an injury.  The fight was set to take place June 29, headlining UFC 303.

A report from MMA journalist Ariel Helwani earlier Thursday teased at the notion McGregor would not be fighting.

"It’s not 100% off but I’d be extremely surprised at this point if it remains and they are actively negotiating with multiple camps to find a replacement," Helwani posted on X. "It’s all up in the air still but they are proceeding at this time like they need a replacement."

Instead, the new main event will be Alex Pereira vs. Jiří Prochazka for the light heavyweight title. The co-main event will be former middleweight champion Brian Ortega vs. rising middleweight star Diego Lopes.

The UFC middleweight title eliminator between Robert Whittaker and Khamzat Chimaev, scheduled to headline a UFC Fight Night in Saudi Arabia, has been canceled just two weeks before the event.

Additionally, the much-awaited UFC 303 bout marking the return of Conor McGregor has also been (unsurprisingly) called off.

SportsBetting.ag has set odds for the fill-in fights at both events. Here you go:

Jiri Prochazka                +135

Alex Pereira                  -155
