If you live in the Atlanta area perhaps you saw daily fantasy sports operator PrizePicks featured on the front page.  PrizePicks is fast becoming one of Atlanta's biggest employers.

Zachary Hansen of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution starts off with: "Homegrown fantasy sports giant plants its flag in Georgia despite the state’s murky sports betting laws."

PrizePicks recently moved into a brand new state-of-the-art office space while announcing new hiring efforts.

The article can also be found online here (with a firewall sadly).

PrizePicks founder Adam Wexler this week discussed the importance of supporting local journalism.  This is something we can totally get behind.

"Growing up, I remember waiting for the Sunday Atlanta Journal-Constitution to come out so I could peruse the box scores of athletes like UGA RB Robert Edwards, being fascinated by his transition from defense to offense and tearing up the backfield for the Dawgs. As a sidenote, it was great to see him land at my high school alma mater and read about him in the AJC leading Riverwood to two region championships a couple years back.

"To this day, my Dad loves to pick up the paper and finish his days with a read & glass of wine. I knew the interview I recently did on behalf of PrizePicks was going to be a feature piece, but I had no idea it would be the cover story of the AJC.

"What I did know was my home state of Georgia was the perfect market to focus on with a mainstream Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) solution. Our sports fandom stretches across pro & college athletics as much as anyone in the country, and we wanted to make it easy for you to get closer to the games you want to watch or attend. We're a fan engagement solution for a reason.

"In general, I encourage everyone to support your local newspapers and journalists who keep us in the know.

"Thanks to the AJC for highlighting our growth and commitment to the market where PrizePicks was born & raised."
