Aggies vs. Vols College World Series Championship Odds
The 2024 College World Series championship matchup is set.
It’s the third time in the past four years that we have an all-SEC series with Tennessee taking on Texas A&M.
The Aggies were title favorites for much of the season, but the script has flipped for the CWS champ.
Texas A&M beat Florida 6-0 to make CWS finals for 1st time as the Gators were shut out for the 1st time in 2 years.
“I’m tired of leaving before the championship, so personally it’s awesome, it’s fun to get to be a part of,” said Aggies coach Jim Schlossnagle, who has brought seven teams to the CWS but never to the final. “Excited to play an awesome Tennessee team, one of the best college teams that I’ve — I mean, they really have a great team.”
Tennessee, which opens the final as the favorite against Texas A&M, won for the 58th time this year, setting a single-season program record, and clinched its first trip to the event's best-of-three championship showdown.
"We always say that before something happens, something happens," Tennessee seventh-year coach Tony Vitello said afterward in a news conference. "There has been a lot of build-up into the successes that we've had this year and the failures, too, to be honest with you, and it's been fun to be a part of. As far as my emotions, I'm kind of at the point where I'm just following these guys.
SportsBetting.ag released series odds and Game 1 odds Thursday morning (first game is Saturday), and the odds imply the Volunteers have a 67.7 percent probability of walking away with the title.
