The Cardinals are 4-2 in the last six games of this series. Both teams are playing decent enough of late.  St. Louis and Atlanta have records above the .500 mark.

Cardinals vs. Braves Power Rankings

MLB.com's final power rankings coming into second half of season.

St. Louis Cardinals (No.

"Cardinals fans were mighty restless after a tough start, on the heels of a last-place season, but from Mother’s Day on, this has been one of the best teams in the National League. The rotation is still a little flimsy and they could probably use a right-handed bat, but the approaching disaster, so far, appears to be averted."

Atlanta Braves (No. 7)

"No team is going to just shake off the loss of Ronald Acuña Jr., and the Braves certainly miss him. But they’re keeping their heads above water and certainly seem primed to have a home series in the playoffs. They may be ticketed for another showdown with the Phillies in October. Reasonable Expectation: Get past Philly this time."

How to Be a Baseball Bookie

Just think about it, on average there are 162 regular MLB game per season. If a gambler bets $100 on one team per season with a 10% vig, you can earn $1,620 from them. Multiply that by the number of friends you have that follow baseball and it can become quite high.

Cardinals Pitching

Sonny Gray (9-6, 3.34 ERA)

Gray has pitched well against these Braves, allowing just 20 hits in 96 at bats, 8 RBIs, 2 home runs (.208). Even better, Adam Duvall has really cut into the record with his 3 RBI's but has not played above .200 this season.  Matt Olson is the other batter who seems to have Gray's number but is just .229 on the season, though he does have 13 homers.

Kyle Gibson (7-3, 4.16 ERA)

The Braves are .324 against Gibson with 18 RBIs and 6 home runs in 111 at bats.  Matt Olson has four of those home runs.

Milos Mikolas (7-6, 5.13 ERA)

Atlanta Braves career statistics vs. Miles Mikolas are .337 although Eddie Rosario cuts into that number with 5 hits in 10 at bats against him but he's just hitting .180 on the season.

Mikolas allowed six runs on eight hits in 5 1/3 innings in a loss to the Cubs his last start but had a win before that.

Braves Pitching

Spencer Schwellenbach (3-4, 4.43 ERA)

In 20 at bats, Schwellenbach has been roughed up by the Cardinals.  The sampling is small enough though.

Keep in mind that Schwellenbach is coming off of two consecutive wins, so he may be due for a bad outing.

Charlie Morton (5-5, 4.07 ERA)

Cardinals batters are .256 against Mortonb but they only have two homers in 111 at bats. Morton allowed four runs with five strikeouts over 6 1/3 innings in a no-decision against the Diamondbacks and did not factor into the decision in his prior start.

Max Fried (7-5, 3.08 ERA)

Fried threw six innings of one-run ball Thursday in a loss to the Diamondbacks his last start.

Cardinals career statistics vs. Max Fried are just .180.

This is an Over series in Atlanta.  The last three played here have resulted in 13 or more runs.  Just not on Sunday as two solid starters are coming off losses and Max Fried of Atlanta has pitched well against the Cards.
