BetMGM Affected By Global Outages
- Unclear when BetMGM site would be fully operational.
- Outage brought on by CrowdStrike faulty update.
A massive tech outage caused global outages in various sectors Friday including air travel, banking, hospitals and even online gambling.
BetMGM was among the companies dealing with issues. They released a statement on Friday.
"BetMGM is experiencing temporary issues due to global IT outages. We are working hard to resolve this and will update customers when we are up and running. Thank you for your patience."

Hundreds of customers responded to the BetMGM tweet.
"We need bonus bets because of this 100 dollars for us all," one person wrote.
"t’s been out since midnight while every other sport books been live. British open and baseballs back today. What the fuck," another tweeted.
"Over 10 hours isn't temporary...fanduel was back up within a few hours..do better....we got money pending in the app!"
Affected customers took issue with BetMGM's customer service (or lack thereof) heading into Saturday as the site continued to experience issues.
"Great customer service. No updates or time frames or anything. Busy weekend including a golf major.. Only site down....
Makes the statement of all "professionals" ring clear. You must have many outs..".
As of Saturday morning, it wasn't immediately clear as to when the BetMGM site would be fully operational.
At the heart of the massive disruption is CrowdStrike, a cybersecurity firm that provides software to scores of companies worldwide. The company says the problem occurred when it deployed a faulty update to computers running Microsoft Windows, noting that the issue behind the outage was not a security incident or cyberattack.
CrowdStrike has said a fix is on the way. Still, chaos deepened hours after the problem was first detected.
