Airlines, banks, governments and, yes, even sportsbooks, were rushing to try to get back online heading into Sunday following a widespread technical outage.

Airlines were most affected.  Carriers canceled thousands of flights on Friday and some 25,000 flight delays were reported Saturday afternoon.

Among the online sportsbooks, BetMGM appeared to be hit the hardest. FanDuel reported intermittent downtime Friday but that seemed to be resolved by later in the day.

The issue BetMGM customers had with that sportsbook app was the lack of customer support.

Jay Clemmons wrote on Twittter early Saturday afternoon:

"I'm losing patience with @BetMGM...as their sportsbook outage approaches a 36th hour."

Sports bettors informed Gambling911.com that BetMGM seemed to be the only sportsbook app down as of Saturday.

Another person commented:

"Definitely moving over to Caesar’s Sportsbook after this BetMGM craziness… you’d think they’d have a solid backup plan for any kind of outage and unexpected disruption considering goes big they are in the Sportsbook and betting space.."

Gambling911.com is unable to confirm circulating reports of lost data and account balances, which would seem unlikely.

BetUS encouraged those with access to bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies to register with them if they need to get down on The Open, MLB and, especially, the Jake Paul vs. Mike Perry fight.  BetUS also accepts credit cards and gamblers report being able to join in under five minutes.
