Dodgers Starting to Sizzle

LA can afford to have a rough patch as they sit comfortably with a 71-49 record, albeit in a very competitive division.  Now they are beginning to show signs of a turnaround as they enter Wednesday with a 5-game win streak.

The Dodgers have also won eight of their last ten games.

Today they will continue play in Milwaukee against a Brewers team they are 9-1 against.  LA beat the Brewers 7-2 on Tuesday.

Shohei Ohtani hit his National League-leading 37th home run.  Gavin Lux and Andy Pages each hit a two-run home run during a five-run fourth inning that gave the Dodgers a 7-1 lead.

Will Smith also homered as the NL West-leading Dodgers improved to 71-49 and matched the Cleveland Guardians for the best record in the majors.

“We’re just playing good baseball,” Smith said. “Offense is putting together good at-bats, good team at-bats, driving guys in, moving guys over. Pitchers are filling up the zone, attacking guys, getting ahead. Right now, we’re playing good baseball.”

Walker Buehler will start for LA.  He is just 1-4 with a 5.86 ERA.  Buehler is expected to rejoin the Dodgers’ rotation on Thursday against the Brewers.  He had a win prior to that against the Nationals.

Dodgers career statistics vs. Frankie Montas are .316 in 76 at bats. They have 21 RBIs against him.

Mookie Betts is 5-for-11 with two RBIs while Shohei Ohtani is 11-for-27 against him with 5 home runs.

Can you say OVER 9 here?
