A group of bettors took to various posting forums in recent weeks claiming long established Bookmaker.ag would not pay them.  The world's leading watchdog website, Gambling911.com, monitored the situation closely, realizing there had to be more to this story than meets the eye.  Complaints against Bookmaker.ag are somewhere in the neighborhood of ZERO.

Bookmaker.ag is the oldest established North American facing sportsbook online today (an offshoot of a call center book established in the Dominican Republican in 1986).  The company is widely believed to have paid out millions to customers owed money at insolvent sportsbooks through numerous acquisitions (i.e. Majestic Sports).

On the surface, the case appeared to involve security concerns whereby Bookmaker required additional identification.  One of the individuals claimed the sportsbook wanted a photo showing him raising his hand.

The affected players claimed forum administrations were "in bed with Bookmaker" as they kept deleting posts.  These posts, however, were not deleted in most cases.  In fact, they were showing up all over Google, presenting another problem we'll discuss in a moment.

A player not directly affected by the matter reached out to Gambling911.com expressing his concerns over the lack of reporting.

"If they are able to identify what they consider to be fake accounts, they are essentially freerolling a lot of players because those who bet and lose are allowed to continue to lose indefinitely, but those that win get the KYC colonoscopy and even after such a full colonoscopy are getting ghosted."

He added: "I'm not affected by this as I bet exclusively through credit but am disappointed there has not been any reporting of it on Twitter or anything mainstream. With SBR no longer covering offshore at bookmakerreview being kind of a joke, all there is left is G911 and Twitter, the latter of which these days is just concerned with picks, touts, and petty arguments instead of the meat and potatoes concern which is... which books pay and which don't?"

Tweets soon began showing up on the Gambling911.com Twitter feed claiming that Gambling911.com was "afraid of Bookmaker".

We reached out to Bookmaker.ag and some of our other friends in the industry, which is the standard means of looking into disputes.  One of the primary players involved has now confirmed that two five figure wires were ultimately received.

The lesson to learn here is that colonoscopies can be scary, but they are often necessary. Bookmaker apparently did not have a long established relationship with the individual(s) in question.  Hence the above described "KYC colonoscopy".

Posting all over the internet may have been a bit premature.  After all, we were accused of "being scared of Bookmaker" before even given an opportunity to look into the matter.  This is not a case where every avenue in getting paid were exhausted.  We know this because Gambling911.com barely got involved before this matter ended up resolved.  The negative messages on various forums make there way across the internet, on search, and they stay there. This harms the reputation of an otherwise reputable business. Something tells us Bookmaker will continue to allow these individuals to keep playing.

One important note is that large figure wires are not paid by offshore sportsbooks same day, next day or even next week.  There are processing limitations when it comes to large payouts.  You'll sometimes read on forums about players being placed in a queue for processing.
