ABC Harris Trump Debate Odds Already Up Despite Suggestions GOP Nominee Will Back Out
There has been some discussion in recent days that GOP nominee and former U.S. president Donald Trump may be reconsidering a debate with Democratic nominee and current VP Kamala Harris. Meanwhile, the Harris campaign is looking to "unmute" the mics. A prior stipulation included having mics shut off while the other candidate was speaking.
Don't believe the hype. The debate will take place, whether it is on another network or without muted mics.
BetUS already has a limited number of Harris-Trump debate props being offered, including whether the two will shake hands.
“Trump’s handlers prefer the muted microphone because they don’t think their candidate can act presidential for 90 minutes on his own,” Harris spokesperson Brian Fallon said. Harris “is ready to deal with Trump’s constant lies and interruptions in real time. Trump should stop hiding behind the mute button.”
Trump spokesman Jason Miller retorted that the Republican nominee had “accepted the ABC debate under the exact same terms as the CNN debate.” He alleged Harris’ representatives sought “a seated debate, with notes, and opening statements.”
