Twitter Survey Shows NFL Fan Panic Meter

One of our favorite things about Week 1 in the NFL is to see the panic meter from fanbases go through the roof.

Some are justified, but more the majority, it’s likely far too early to hit the eject button.

Maybe us Dolphins fans have a right to be panicked?  Who knows?  But Thursday night was not pretty, to put it mildly.

The graphic below is based on Twitter/X data from last Thursday to now, tracking negative sentiment tweets from NFL fans directed at their own team and it comes courtesy of your friends at Betonline.

For example, negative tweets about the Browns such as "The Browns suck" or "The Browns are terrible" from accounts that also use fan hashtags like #DawgPound. More than 100,000 tweets were tracked in total.

As you can see from the graphic, it's no surprise that the Carolina Panthers fans are the most pessimistic. The Panthers took a 47-10 shellacking in Week 1, and our QB data sent yesterday showed Bryce Young is the league's least valuable quarterback.

Right behind them, however, are the Browns, who also lost in Week 1. Deshaun Watson hasn't been close to resembling the quarterback we saw in Houston, and the fans think there could be a major problem in Cleveland.

In the third spot, you have the New York Giants fans, who watched their team get beat by the Sam Darnold-led Vikings, and fail to score a touchdown.
