When making your MLB picks this weekend, there are only a handful of games that matter and these are the only games that should be considered.

Unfortunately, as good as the Tigers have been, they are hosting the dreadful Chicago White Sox.  So good luck getting good baseball betting value with these games.  We would note that Garrett Crochet starting for the White Sox has done enough to keep the line just below -200.  We did not yet know the starting pitcher for Detroit as this was going to press.

The only games you should consider betting on this weekend are:

  • Royals vs. Braves
  • Orioles vs. Twins
  • Mets vs. Brewers
  • Padres vs. Diamondbacks

Because the Brewers have already clinched, the Mets were looking especially delicious for Friday evening.  Unfortunately we are seeing way too many top cappers backing Milwaukee here, enough to spook us.

Same with the Padres vs. Diamondbacks game.

And we simply have little interest touching Minnesota this evening.

Hurricane Helene has blown through and no sign the Royals-Braves game is being postponed Friday night.

Atlanta Braves career statistics vs. Brady Singer are 10-for-32 with 7 RBIs.

Sean Murphy is 4-for5 against him but his ERA is under .200 this season.

Kansas City Royals career statistics vs. Max Fried are .213.

Fried went six innings and allowed two runs — one earned — while getting a win over the Marlins on Saturday.   The Braves are in desperation mode here as KC continues to struggle.

The Braves have won five of their last six games while the Royals have lost seven of their last 10 games.

We should also note that the Royals bullpen currently ranks 8th worse in the league.

With the line coming down off the -190 to -176, we're going to sit this night out and focus on the weekend's football slate.
