Louisville NCAA Tournament Odds: Heavy Wiseguy Action
When it comes to "sharp" action and the NCAA Tournament odds, Louisville was getting plenty of action as the PK vs. California (this line was available at Bookmaker.com here). Louisville was the 9th seed vs. California as the 8th seed. Recreational shops had California getting around 75 percent of the action.
So do the wiseguys know something the betting public does not?
Cincinnati managed to strip the Big East victory away from Louisville last week.
The numbers were even more impressive against the defending champion Cardinals (20-12). The Bearcats outrebounded Louisville 54-33, including 28-9 on the offensive end.
"The point of emphasis (tonight) was to rebound the basketball," Louisville coach Rick Pitino said after that costly game. "We rebound, we win. We knew that. We didn't, we lost. We go home early. Wasted a lot of boosters' money."
The fact that Louisville is even in the 2010 NCAA Tournament is something to behold.
The Cardinals nearly went from a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament to missing it altogether, but a late run that included a Freedom Hall-closing victory against then-No. 1 Syracuse saved them.
The Golden Bears started off the season rough but finished it strong.
