Chargers vs. Cardinals Betting Preview - Monday Night Football

The Chargers come to Arizona Monday night as part of an NFL double-header.

LA is a -1 point favorite after sitting around -2.5 much of the week.

Sagarin gives us a number of Chargers 1.61.  Therefore, even with the line movement, this one has mostly been on the money.

Winners and Whiners will be on the Chargers in this one.

Both teams have had their issues on the offensive side of the ball this season. The Chargers are still trying to figure out their receiver room and have been relying on the run game under Jim Harbaugh. Arizona has had success wit the ground game as well but their defense has been lacking. That’s the big advantage the Bolts have here as they lead the league in scoring defense. In addition, they are eighth in pass defense and sixth in rush defense this season. Meanwhile, the Cardinals are 27th in scoring defense, 22nd in pass defense and 29th against the run on the year. This has the potential of a big game for Dobbins as he leads the Chargers to victory here.

The Cardinals are yet to win back-to-back games this season. 

“We have to remain positive, because we know what we have in here,” Kyler Murray said. “It's not like we're at rock bottom. No one's given up on what we can accomplish. I've got full faith and confidence in all the guys in the locker room.”

Marvin Harrison Jr. does return to action for Arizona but the Cardinals have had a tough schedule and that continues on Monday with the Chargers (3-2), who have one of the NFL's best defenses.

Gannon said the Cardinals need to focus mostly on themselves.

“We need to do more collectively to win more games, so that’s (where) all our energy and focus right now is what do we control (and) how that impacts beating the Chargers on Monday night,” Gannon said. "That’s where our headspace is at.”

The Chargers managed a nice victory against Denver and now face one of the worst defenses in the league, as noted above in the Winners and Whiners prediction.

“They do a lot of great things,” Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert said. “They’re going to play a bunch of different coverages and they find a way to to make them all work. When you turn on the tape you see a great disguise plan and a whole lot of coverages that they’re pretty sound.”

Per AcePerHead.com, action was 58% on the number of bets coming in on the Chargers but 48% on the tickets written up for the Cards.
